The King attended the Terra Carta Exhibition and Reception at Hampton Court Palace today, marking five years of the Sustainable Markets Initiative.

The event concluded a two-day summit where CEOs and international government representatives gathered for the Terra Carta Roundtables & Exhibition.

His Majesty viewed a series of exhibits and met with winners of the Terra Carta Design Lab in the Great Watching Chamber.

The summit, which ran from March 10 to 11, aimed to showcase private sector investment in sustainability over the past five years and outline increased ambition for 2030 and beyond.

The Sustainable Markets Initiative was founded by the King five years ago when he was Prince of Wales, with the goal of creating more sustainable markets.

During his visit, His Majesty arrived in Clock Court where he viewed outdoor exhibits, including the world’s only certified electric aircraft.

The King then proceeded to the Great Watching Chamber to view the Terra Carta Design Lab Winner exhibitions and meet with the winners.

Following this, Charles joined guests from the two-day summit in the Great Hall for a reception celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Sustainable Markets Initiative.

The Terra Carta, deriving its name from the historic Magna Carta, serves as a practical roadmap for the private sector.

It outlines how businesses can contribute to the world’s 2030 targets for nature, people and planet.

The Sustainable Markets Initiative aims to put nature, people and planet at the heart of global value creation.

Today’s event at Hampton Court Palace aimed to demonstrated the progress made since the SMI’s inception and reinforced commitments to environmental and social sustainability.

It follows King Charles attending a special event celebrating the 1,000th RCN King’s Nursing Cadet.

The monarch learned how to give CPR during the occasion.

The scheme, formerly known as the RCN Prince of Wales Nursing Cadet Scheme, was inspired by His Majesty when he was Prince of Wales.

During the visit, The King met cadets from across the United Kingdom who are undertaking or have completed the nursing cadet programme.
