Princess Kate has released a heartwarming Christmas photograph, as the royal has given a rare insight ahead of her annual carol service.
The Princess of Wales can be seen in the photograph as a child, which was shared on the Kensington Palace social media channels.
Taken during a family Christmas in 1983, the image has been released ahead of Kate’s “Together at Christmas” Carol Service, which is airing on Christmas Eve.
This year the service focused on the vital importance of early years and the role played by people shaping future generations, as part of the Shaping Us campaign.

Kensington Palace will be inviting others to share images of their earliest Christmases on their social media channels in the lead-up to Christmas Eve.
The princess took to X to post the picture with the accompanying caption: “Sharing some festive memories this Christmas because #ShapingUs is all about the vital importance of our early years and the role played by those around us in shaping the rest of our lives.
“The Princess, Christmas 1983.
“Don’t miss the Together at Christmas Carol Service with @earlychildhood this Christmas Eve at 7.45pm on @ITV.”
