Princess Kate made a “naughty” gesture towards a “smug” Prince William, according to a body language expert.
The Prince and Princess of Wales displayed their friendly rivalry at the Six Nations rugby match between England and Wales at the Principality Stadium on Saturday.
The royal couple, who support opposing teams when it comes to rugby, were spotted sitting side by side in the stands during the tense sporting event.

Body language expert Judi James noted the pair were enjoying “mischievous banter” during their public appearance.
Their contrasting expressions and reactions became increasingly evident as the match progressed.
According to Judi James, William initially appeared confident about Wales’ chances.
“It’s William’s facial expressions of mischievous, playful fun that suggest the banter that’s going on between them here,” she told the Mirror.

The expert observed William “beaming smugly as though assuming his side would win.”
He was “show-boating a little” while greeting people around him, displaying an “upbeat attitude”.
Kate, meanwhile, was “looking serious and even slightly tense” at the start of the match.
The Princess appeared “a little more serious” with her face reflecting tension as she focused on the game.

As the pair took their seats, Kate was positioned next to Rob Udwin, president of the RFU.
The two appeared to engage in what Judi described as a “nervous” whisper.
The tension visibly eased as England began to pull ahead of Wales during the match.
Kate’s playful side emerged as the scoreboard tilted in England’s favour.

James noted the Princess flashed a “naughty” dimpled smile, clearly enjoying the friendly rivalry with her husband.
“As the scores stacked up in England’s favour it was Kate performing a ‘naughty’ dimpled smile, while William stuck to his puckered-mouth grins to suggest he was still enjoying the banter,” the expert observed.
William’s reaction showed he remained amused by their competitive dynamic despite his team falling behind.
