Justin Bieber has denied unfollowing his wife Hailey on Instagram, claiming someone else accessed his account to remove her.
The 30-year-old singer took to his Instagram stories on Tuesday to address the social media drama that had sparked fresh speculation about their marriage.
“Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife,” Bieber wrote in a quickly-deleted post. “Sh** is getting suss out here.”
The controversy erupted when eagle-eyed fans noticed Hailey’s account was no longer appearing in Justin’s following list, with searches returning “no users found”.
Hailey, 28, continues to follow her husband on the platform. The drama comes amid the couple’s skiing holiday in Aspen, Colorado, where Bieber has raised eyebrows with his recent behaviour.
During the trip, the singer posted photos of himself using a bong, showing him lighting and inhaling from the device in a state where marijuana is legal.

The posts drew mixed reactions from fans, with one writing: “You are a father. This is not your way.”
The social media controversy follows Bieber’s recent unfollowing of his father-in-law Stephen Baldwin, which had already sparked speculation about potential marriage troubles.
The singer also shared photos of himself taking an icy plunge in Calvin Klein boxers during the getaway, which left fans to take to their social media platforms to share their thoughts on the unfollow drama.
“DID THEY SEPARATE?” questioned one X user, while another wrote: “They’ve been through so much—I wanted them to make it.”
The couple tied the knot back in 2018
On Reddit, users speculated about deeper issues, with one suggesting Justin’s unfollowing spree was because “he doesn’t have to deal with her dad when the divorce happens.”
“I believe JB wants to go back to his life before getting married,” another X user claimed.
However, some fans defended the couple, with one noting: “They’re literally in Aspen together rn” and suggesting it must have been accidental.
The couple welcomed their first child, son Jack Blues Bieber, in August 2024.
Despite the social media controversy, Justin had recently shared a loving tribute to Hailey during their Aspen trip.
Posting a black-and-white photo of his wife bundled up in a trench coat and cashmere bandana scarf, he called her “the greatest woman I have and will ever know.”

The social media drama extends beyond Hailey, with Justin recently unfollowing several other notable figures.
Among those removed from his following list are his mentor Usher, former manager Scooter Braun, and Ryan Good, who served as best man at his wedding.
The unfollowing spree has coincided with hints at new music, as the singer has been sharing photos from his at-home studio.
