The final four episodes of Clarkson’s Farm’s third season have arrived on Amazon Prime Video and with it, fans got to see firsthand Jeremy Clarkson’s reaction to the result of his appeal against the local council.
Throughout the entire series, Clarkson’s battles with West Oxfordshire District Council have taken centre stage – from having his farm shop shut due to its roof to being told he wasn’t allowed to lay a farm track.
In season three, Clarkson decided to hit back after the council issued an enforcement notice on Diddly Squat following his decision to open a restaurant at the location.
The council refused permission for a car park to be built among other restrictions but in episode six, the Grand Tour host was blown away to discover he’d been victorious in appealing against the call.
The moment came when Clarkson and girlfriend Lisa Hogan had joined the head chef of Diddly Squat’s food van to discuss possible new menu items with for his mushrooms.
“Everybody wants mushrooms on toast,” Clarkson quipped before being distracted by his phone.

As Hogan and the chefs continued their discussion, they soon became distracted by Clarkson gasping away while staring at his phone.
“S**t,” Clarkson remarked, which prompted an uneasy Hogan to ask: “What have you done? What’s wrong, love? Oh no… are you crying or laughing?”
“We’ve won the appeal,” Clarkson triumphantly replied as Hogan threw her arms into the air in celebration.
Keen for details, Hogan asked her other half to delve into the email as Clarkson read aloud the ruling: “It’s a hell of a long document.
“Point 41… I shall for the purposes of clarity and understanding – this is the planning inspector – correct the allegation to a change of use of a mixed-use comprising agriculture, cafe, restaurant, farm shop, parking and lavatory facilities.”
“He’s given us the whole shebang?” Hogan replied to which an excited Clarkson confirmed the news, although did point out the old restaurant was a no-go.
“This is the biggest f*** you to the council ever,” the former Top Gear host couldn’t resist remarking.
Planning inspector, RJ Perrins, came to the decision in June last year, with his report detailing how he rejected the council’s verdict on Diddly Squat.

In his report, according to the Oxford Mail, Perrins accepted Diddly Squat had been “a victim of its own success” and refuted the council’s claim it was a “leisure attraction”.
The planning inspector said that as Diddly Squat “does not ask for an entrance fee” it was “not comparable to say a Wildlife Park or miniature railway”.
Therefore, permission following Clarkson’s appeal was granted to build a car park and the other features for the next three years.
Elsewhere in the show’s third season, fans were left devastated to learn that Gerald Cooper had been diagnosed with cancer while several others were left in tears to learn Clarkson had to give up his pet cow, Pepper.
