The Masked Singer fans once again have their detective hats on for the new series, with many theorising who could be behind the wacky costumes.
The latest theory doing the rounds is regarding Tattoo, who some fans believe could be a singer-songwriter many will remember for being big in the noughties.
Viewers have been sharing their thoughts online, with one Reddit post putting forward a strong argument about the ITV alter-ego.
It has been speculated Nelly Furtado could be in the costume, with the Maneater singer the subject of the comprehensive theory.
Taking to Reddit, one eagle-eyed viewer penned: “I think the framed photo of Natalie Appleton isn’t a reference to a girlband, but actually is a clue to Tattoo being Canadian.”
Touching on the clues given during the show, the user continued: “The horseshoe, rabbits foot and four-leaf clover all symbolise luck. Nelly’s newest album is called ‘7’ which also represents luck.

“The Robin Hood hat could be a clue to her second album being called Folklore.
“If we want to really stretch, as a teenager she worked in the Robin Hood Inn,” the fan added, who seemed to have extensive knowledge of the 46-year-old singer.
“I think there are references to the titles of songs on her newest album (I don’t know when this was filmed, so maybe it doesn’t work if it was filmed before the album was released),” they went on. (sic)
“One of the songs on her newest album is called Crown, and another one is called Corazón, the Spanish word for heart, which was referenced multiple times in the clue package.

“Five weeks is 35 days, and Nelly Furtado has released 35 singles.”
The fan also noted in the post how the birds on Tattoo’s costume could be a nod to Furtado’s 2000 hit, I’m Like A Bird.
The track topped the charts along with the singer’s other classic, Turn Off the Light, with Furtado launching into stardom around the same time.
Fans will have to wait until Tattoo is booted off The Masked Singer to find out if the Furtado theory holds any weight.
Meanwhile, the second contestant to be unmasked was Pegasus, who was revealed to be Great British Bake Off star Prue Leith.
Other theories circulating include Pufferfish being Jamie Lynn Spears, with another Reddit user noting the spider that appeared in Pufferfish’s clue package could be a reference to Spears’ time on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2023.

“She first became famous at age 11 with her first acting role, ‘Runs in the family’ – the sister of famous pop singer Britney Spears (and) ‘small but just as impressive’ – she is the younger sister, and shorter.”
“‘That’s exactly who I was thinking!’ another user replied before a second agreed: ‘Omg I think it’s her!'” (sic)
The next episode will see one more contestant unmasked, with host Joel Dommett fronting a new instalment with his all-star judging panel.
