Instagram has gone down across the US as users report the app and service connection are not working.
Downdetector, a site the monitors online outages, also shows Facebook is experiencing issues, but not as widespread.
Instagram’s outage hit around 9am ET, with more than 10,000 users issuing reports to Downdetector.
Facebook appears to be working for some users, but those unlucky few are unable to access the website or app.
Both incidents are largely focused on the East Coast, with some users reporting problems in Southern California and Texas.

Users flocked to X to share their frustrations about the Meta platforms glitching.
One user posted: ‘Governments main focus is to remove TikTok whole time Instagram is crashing down ONCE AGAIN.’
The joke is in reference to the looming TikTok ban that is set for January 19.
Another user shared: ‘Instagram always down… PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME.’
Approximately 65 percent of reported issues about Instagram to Downdetector cited the app, 25 percent for the Server Connection and 10 percent for Login.
For Facebook, 47 percent of reported problems are for the website, 37 percent linked to the app and 17 percent for Login.
