People are often told to huddle together for warmth when it’s cold, so that might explain why this frigid US state has the highest levels of intimacy.
People in Alaska are engaging in intercourse nearly three times a week, the most all across the country, according to a new survey.
It also concluded that Americans are having sex a little over once a week, regardless of gender.
Coming in second in terms of sexual frequency is New Mexico at a little over twice a week while Vermont is third with about 1.7 times a week.
Rounding out the top five were New York, New Hampshire and Minnesota where people are intimate about 1.3 times a week.
At the other end of the spectrum, researchers at the mattress company NapLab found found people in Colorado, Maine, Michigan, Nebraska and West Virginia had the least sex – with the lowest being 0.4 times per week.
The website asked 1,567 people across the country which state the were from and how often they engage in intercourse.
The survey also noted that out of the people surveyed, 7.8 percent of them have sex once per day and 45.6 percent of people have sex once per week.
Furthermore, 24.8 percent of people were found having sex once per month and 9.5 percent have sex once per year.
Young Americans in their 20s were engaged in intercourse only 80 times a year or approximately once every four to five days.
This rate declines over time, dropping to about 20 times a year for those in their 60s.
