Si King has shared an emotional tribute to his fellow Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers on the one-year anniversary of his death.
The TV chef posted two heartfelt messages on Instagram marking the occasion, expressing how much he misses his “best friend” who died aged 66 on February 28, 2024 following a cancer diagnosis.
King, 58, said he hopes Myers is “at peace” in the moving social media posts.
In a video shared on the Hairy Bikers Instagram account, King revealed he was rehearsing for his show “An Evening With Si King” when he paused to acknowledge the significant date.
“I wanted to mark the day of the 28th of February, which is a year since my best friend died, and it’s very odd being in rehearsals without him,” he said.
“I miss you every day brother, and I hope you’re at peace.”
In a separate post, King shared a black and white photograph of himself with Myers hugging and laughing.
“One year ago we lost my incredible friend,” he wrote. “He’ll never be far from our thoughts and I’m so proud that the legacy of the Hairy Bikers lives on through all the amazing projects and programmes we have been lucky to be involved in.”
The post concluded with the words “Remembering Dave Myers 1957-2024”.
Myers died on February 28, 2024, with his family and close friends, including King, by his side following his battle with cancer.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
The tribute comes after the final programme produced by the pair, BBC’s Hairy Bikers Go West, won the best food show prize at the TV Choice Awards earlier this month.
The duo had worked together for nearly three decades after meeting in 1995 on the set of a TV drama.
King has paid tribute to Myers on several occasions since his death, including organising “Dave Day”, a 30-mile motorcycle ride to celebrate his life.
The event was recorded for the documentary “The Hairy Bikers: You’ll Never Ride Alone”, which aired on BBC Two during the festive period last year.
Thousands of bikers participated in the memorial ride from London to Myers’ hometown of Barrow-in-Furness.
A final Hairy Bikers cookbook is also being developed by King which will bring together the pair’s “most loved” recipes, due for release in March.
King has selected the recipes from thousands of dishes the pair made together over their years of collaboration.
The cookbook will serve as another tribute to Myers’ legacy and their enduring partnership that spanned decades of television and culinary adventures.

Fans flocked to the comments section of King’s posts to share their support and memories of Myers.
“Oh God I’m crying again… This is still so sad, sending the biggest hug,” wrote one follower.
Another added: “Dave is missed so much, but his legacy will live forever.”
Karen Hauer, who was Myers’ professional dance partner when he competed in Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, also commented: “Big hug to you. We miss him very much.”
