Gogglebox star Tom Malone Senior has been rushed to hospital with a mystery injury, where medical staff used an unusual dressing method – a nappy – to treat his wound.
The Channel 4 favourite shared a photograph on Instagram showing himself lying in a hospital bed whilst wearing a medical gown.
In the image, Malone can be seen with his arm in a sling and a large bandage strapped over his shoulder, looking down at his injury.
The reality TV star appeared bewildered by the unconventional treatment approach, which saw nurses using a nappy as a dressing for his wound.
When questioned about the unusual choice of dressing in the comments, Malone later clarified that “nappies are great for wound leakage.”
Despite his hospital stay, Malone maintained a positive outlook, sharing his experience with followers on Monday evening.
“Woke up with a nappy as a dressing, was caught off guard when the nurse said she had to change my nappy! Grateful to our NHS, top notch care Thank you, home now!” he wrote in his Instagram post.
His wife Julie later responded to concerned messages, reassuring fans by commenting: “Thank you xxx he’s well topped up on pain killers.”
While the exact nature of his injury remains unclear, Malone confirmed he had returned home following his hospital treatment.
The TV personality expressed his gratitude towards the NHS staff for their care during his stay.
