Getafe are reportedly willing to discuss extending Mason Greenwood’s stay.
Greenwood is on loan from Manchester United and Getafe are open to a transfer or another loan after his contribution of seven goals this season.
The forward, 22, was charged with attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour in October 2022, but the charges and case were dropped in February 2023 when key witnesses withdrew.
New partial owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently implied he could return after his loan spell, contrasting with the club’s commitment in the summer to make him restart his career ‘away from Old Trafford’.
However, Getafe are prepared to explore taking Greenwood off United’s hands permanently, according to The Times.

Getafe’s president Angel Torres told Spanish radio station COPE last week that Greenwood is eager to stay another year.
‘He is very comfortable in Madrid and he’s crazy about the idea of staying another year,’ Torres said. ‘It’s a question for them [United], they have to decide if he goes back there.
‘There is a market for him in Spain, but it depends on money. It depends on Manchester [United].’
It is believed that another loan would be the simpler option, as per The Times.
Despite facing intense criticism in England, Greenwood has found LaLiga to be a comparative oasis of calm.
The winger is said to ‘love’ living in Spain, valuing the quality of the food and the friendliness of supporters, and is making progress learning the language.
Getafe were slammed as ‘tone deaf’ at his unveiling as they hailed ‘MasonMania’ and showed off pictures of him with fans.
He reportedly has ‘no great desire’ to return to Old Trafford and feels that the Red Devils should have ‘supported him better’.
