The former partner of Channel 10 presenter Jesse Baird, allegedly killed by a Sydney cop in a double homicide, says he is still grieving over the loss.
Corey-Dean Thorpe posted an old video to social media showing him driving happily alongside Mr Baird, then cut to more recent footage of him driving with the passenger seat empty while holding back tears.
‘The reality of grief,’ said the caption.
It has almost been a year since Sydney police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon allegedly murdered Jesse Baird, 26, and flight attendant Luke Davies, 29, in February 2024, and dumped their bodies in rural NSW.
Police allege that the then-senior constable used his service weapon to kill Mr Baird and Mr Davies, who were dating, at Mr Baird’s home in Paddington in eastern Sydney.
It came after a months-long campaign of ‘predatory behaviour’ targeting Mr Baird, who Lamarre-Condon had briefly dated, police have alleged.
Mr Thorpe, a real estate agent on the Gold Coast, was previously in a relationship with Mr Baird for five years.
They parted ways when Mr Baird moved from Queensland to Sydney to further his TV career, but the pair remained close friends.

According to Mr Thorpe, Mr Baird met Lamarre-Condon at a nightclub soon after moving to Sydney, and their relationship was strictly a ‘friends with benefits’ arrangement.
When Mr Thorpe heard about the alleged murders in February he wrote on social media the news had ‘left me speechless, grappling with feelings that seem beyond expression’.
‘For the first time in my life, I find myself at a loss for words.
‘The weight of the news has shattered every fibre of my being, echoing the sentiments of countless others who share in this profound sense of loss.’
The situation felt like a ‘haunting nightmare’ that he could not wake from.
‘Your presence in my life has been a beacon of light, embodying qualities of compassion, kindness, and beauty that have left an indelible mark on my soul.’

Lamarre-Condon was arrested after presenting to Bondi police station, four days after the alleged murders, and before the bodies of Mr Baird and Mr Davies were found.
The remains were discovered on February 27, wrapped in surfboard bags on a property at Bungonia, south of Sydney.
The 29-year-old was sacked by the NSW Police Force in mid-March. He has been held on remand at Long Bay jail in Sydney while awaiting trial.
He joined the force in 2019 and previously ran a celebrity blog, posing in photos with dozens of A-listers including Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles.
His high-profile defence lawyer John Walford was replaced by Legal Aid representation in early November.
The matter is due back in court next month.
