Holly Valance has been lauded for speaking out against the left and their “crap ideas” while at the launch of Lis Truss’ Popular Conversatives group on Tuesday.
The Neighbours actor, who’s married to property tycoon Nick Candy, was at the event where the likes of Truss, Lee Anderson and Jacob Rees-Mogg spoke ahead of this year’s General Election.
Valance pulled no punches when asked by GB News political editor Christopher Hope asked her why she’d attended the launch of PopCon.
The 40-year-old pulled apart the left, the climate crisis and lauded the politicians who spoke at the event.
Inevitably, there were some groans from left-leaning social media users and famous faces – including Carol Vorderman – but Valance has also been on the receiving end of floods of supportive messages from fans who found it refreshing to see showbiz figure with an “independent opinion”.
One X user said: “‘Everyone starts off as a leftie and then wakes up at some point… and then realises what crap ideas they all are, then you go to the right’ Based Holly Valance,” followed by a fire emoji.

A second also praised: “Great message from Holly Valance… ‘Everyone starts as a leftie then wakes up and realises all the ideas a crap’. It shows the indoctrination at schools needs a shake up & woke teachers are a stain on society.”
“Aussie legend Holly Valance drops truth bombs on lefties,” added a third while a fourth applauded: “Holly Valance is correct most do start off being a ‘leftie’ I did. I was brought up in a staunch Labour supporting family involved in the Bermondsey Labour Party, thankfully I woke up to the mad ideology of the far left and realised what ***** they are.”
Meanwhile, a fifth encouraged: “We need to give Holly Valance our support because the nasty left wing who are intolerant to anyone’s opinion but their own will now come for her.”
“Finally. A celebrity brave enough to have independent opinions. Good on you. @GBNEWS #hollyvalance,” added a sixth while another commented: “Holly Valance, at the PopCon launch. A brave celebrity with a different opinion.” (sic)

Valance spoke at length with Hope at the event, telling the People’s Channel star: “I’m a citizen like everyone else here who’s concerned about the way things are going in the country.
“Many things worry and bother me with two little children to bring up – what they might inherit. So I want to come and listen to ideas, good ideas.
“Everyone starts off as a leftie and then wakes up at some point after you start either making money, working, trying to run a business, trying to buy a home, and then realise what crap ideas they all are – and then you go to the right.
“‘The speakers today were fantastic. I thought Liz was actually really, really interesting to listen to. Jacob for PM!

“The MP for Ashfield [Mr Anderson] was awesome, love a northerner, straight to the point and very sensible.”
She also shared her thoughts on eco-activists and the climate agenda as she said: “I just think the climate crisis, or lack of, is not a crisis. I mean the air is better than when I was growing up.
“It was a stink walking down the street when I was growing up. Cleaner, cheaper energy is what we need. We’re perfectly able to get it and have it, but we’re just putting all these restrictions on normal people.
“We’re just trying to go about their business, get to work, pick up their children from school, go to the supermarket. It’s just insanity. It’s like smashing your head up against a wall every day.”
