Ferne McCann has become the second celebrity to leave Dancing On Ice after being eliminated during Sunday night’s movie week.
McCann, 34, and her professional skating partner Brendyn Hatfield performed their final routine dressed as DreamWorks’ Trolls, dancing to Earth, Wind and Fire’s – September.
McCann was visibly emotional following the announcement, telling the show she was “absolutely gutted” to be departing the competition.
The pair’s journey came to an end during the fun-filled movie-themed episode, which saw contestants performing routines inspired by popular films.
Breaking her silence on Instagram, McCann shared an emotional message with her followers on Monday morning, still sporting the pink hair from her Trolls-inspired performance.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” she wrote in her Instagram stories alongside a pink love heart emoji.
The reality star revealed she was still dealing with the aftermath of her character transformation, noting she would need “serious scrubbing” to remove the bright pink hair dye.
She expressed particular joy about performing as Princess Poppy, as Trolls is her favourite movie to watch with her daughter Sunday.
In two consecutive video stories, she said: “Good morning my angels. Look I have just returned back from the school run with the Poppy pink still in my hair, this is going to take some serious scrubbing.
“But I just wanted to say thank you so so much to everyone who supported Brendyn and me. I had an absolute blast, Dancing on Ice has just been such an amazing experience and I feel so proud that we ended on a high.

“I had my nephew’s there last night, I had Sunday and I am just so pleased that they got to see us as Trolls and Princess Poppy and honestly just thank you to everyone who makes and creates Dancing on Ice, it is just such a magical experience, I have learnt such a fantastic skill.
“And to the wardrobe department, the make-up team, the lighting people, everyone, it is just insane and I have had just the best best time.
“I tell you what though I am very very relieved that I might actually be in with the chance to have a lay-in, although with Finty she is still waking up at 5am so I am not sure that will happen but yeah!
“I am seriously so happy we ended on an absolute high. Trolls is my favourite movie to watch with Sunday and it meant the absolute world having her in the audience with me last night so yes!
“You will see us back at the final supporting everyone and I can’t wait to see how everyone progresses on Dancing on Ice.
“So that is all from this little troll, I now need to scrub this out of my hair, Have a great day and again thank you so much to everyone that supported us, it means the world.” (sic)

On Sunday night, host Holly Willoughby confirmed that a celebrity would still be eliminated, with a notable change to the usual format.
“Tonight, there are no second chances, the lowest-placed couple will go straight out of the competition with no skate-off to save them!” Willoughby announced during the show.
This meant McCann’s departure was determined solely by the initial performance scores and viewer votes, without the usual opportunity for a survival skate.
Fans of the show were left furious with the decision and made their opinions known, leaving many to threaten to boycott the series.
