Britons planning on moving to Italy have been warned of two big problems they may encounter.
A pair of expats living on the island of Sicily took to YouTube to explain issues people are experiencing.
Expats Croce and Carol shared the huge rubbish problem that is impacting the island, with there seemingly not being an “importance on cleaning up”.
Carol said: “It has become so bad that Sicily is now exporting its rubbish because the landfills are full.

“It angered me and I would be so upset when I would go to the beach and see rubbish all over the ground.
“People could not take the time to put it in the rubbish bin. I thought, ‘why did they not take pride in their own beautiful country?'”
Some towns are “very clean” so it does vary depending on where you are, but in others “you will find rubbish everywhere”.
Carol added: “They are making headways, putting cameras around and fines in place to catch the people that are leaving the country, and rural areas, and just dumping. That would be the biggest emotional dislike I have.”
Another problem the pair encountered was the very narrow streets that were difficult to drive and navigate down.
Carol explained: “I’ve learned to roll down my front window and pull in the side mirror because a lot of times, you will scrape your mirror driving. I think the majority of the cars in Italy do have folding side mirrors.”
Despite this negative, the pair are happy to accept it because of how “beautiful” the streets are.
The expats said: “You do think to yourself the infrastructure is ridiculous, but then again, look at the history. The charm and quaintness of the area, I would not change it.”

In other expat news, a pair of expats shared the main reasons why people leave Spain.
They shared difficulties adjusting, bureaucracy, taxes, and loneliness are all popular reasons why individuals may decide to move home.
However, they named “misaligned expectations” as one of the most common things that puts people off – “this is actually really big”.
The pair said: “Once they move here, the reality is a little bit different than what they were expecting and that dissonance can be a really big problem if they’re not prepared for it.”
