GB News’ Digital Finance Editor Jessica Sheldon has revealed that Royal Mail has admitted branding a genuine stamp as “counterfeit”, as our exclusive investigation into the postal service continues.
Jessica told GB News host Martin Daubney: “We’ve had a really interesting development this week with a lady who has found that the stamp that she sent was genuine, but Royal Mail has admitted that they called it counterfeit despite it being genuine.
“They have issued an apology – she wrote to her MP who got in touch and they checked over the stamp. They said that Royal Mail had therefore been wrong to apply the surcharge, and they are very sorry that their actions have failed her on this occasion.
“So it’s a big development that Royal Mail said they’re not taking lightly.”
