Charles Spencer has shared an exciting update on the childhood home of Princess Diana.
The pair, alongside their other siblings, visited Althorp estate in Northamptonshire frequently in their youth. Diana also met her future husband King Charles there in 1977.
Posting on Instagram to reveal the exciting announcement to his 245,000 followers, the Earl announced the opening of the stately home to the public in summer of 2024.
Alongside the update, was a photo carousel of pictures featuring a canoe that a friend had made for him for his 60th birthday.
He wrote: “Althorp is open to day visitors from 1 July till 29 August this year, and a new exhibit is the stunning canoe given to me by @marckoska for my 60th birthday in May.
Spencer continued: “It’s as beautiful as many of the works of art in Althorp House, accumulated by my family over the past 500 years.
“I still can’t get my head round the generosity, craftsmanship and thoughtfulness of this gift ia million…”
Princess Diana moved to Althorp House in 1975 when she was 14 years old, six years before her royal wedding to then-Prince Charles.

The late Princess of Wales’s grave is located on the grounds of the estate, on an island in the middle of a lake.
Last year, the 13,000 acre estate was placed on the rental market, allowing the select few to rent the sprawling property for a memorable stay.
The estate is advertised as accommodating 54 guests across 32 bedrooms and 25 bathrooms with a games room, snooker, and spa treatments available. Guests can book the property through Elysian Estates.

Yesterday marked what would have been Diana’s 63rd birthday.
Sarah Ferguson issued a touching statement to her “dear friend”, sharing a snap of the pair standing stand-by-side on the balcony of Buckingham Palace in 1990.
“I am sure you are watching over us always. Rest in peace my friend.”
