Dick Strawbridge, 65, and wife Angel Adoree, 46, have opened up about their time working at this year’s Game Fair at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.
The Escape to the Chateau stars were accompanied by their children Arthur, 11, and Dorothy, 10, for the occasion as it marked the first time both kids and Adoree had attended.
There were plenty of big names in attendance alongside Strawbridge and Adoree as guests enjoyed countryside-themed demonstrations, attended cooking workshops, tucked into traditional British food, and more.
One star also in attendance was TV chef James Martin, the host of his own ITV weekend show, James Martin’s Saturday Morning.
“We were hosting in the VIP lounge, James Martin was doing the cooking with his team and we had a lovely chat with him,” Strawbridge explained on the latest episode of his and Adoree’s podcast, Dick & Angel’s Chat…Eau.
Reminiscing about meeting Martin, Strawbridge joked he was rather perturbed by his son’s reaction to coming face-to-face with the TV chef for the first time.

Strawbridge explained: “Arthur changed his screensaver within about five minutes of meeting James because he got a photograph with James.
“He had a photograph of me and James and Arthur because we were all chefs and Arthur said, ‘Dad, bugger off!’
“So Arthur had a photograph with James without me and that became his screensaver,” he added as Adoree laughed.
Unimpressed, Strawbridge remarked: “It took about two seconds to have me deleted. What’s that about?”
Adoree then weighed into the conversation following her giggles as she paid tribute to Martin and his warm welcome to the Strawbridge family.
“James was so lovely and kind,” she said. “Arthur’s actually – because he’s shooting up so fast now, he wasn’t that dissimilar to James in height.
“James took us and we had a little look around the kitchen and boy, what a sleek process! They are doing a lot of covers and it is the attention to detail – I was quite blown away by how well it was done.
“It took it to another level. So the picture that Arthur got was in the kitchen with James where he was just like, ‘Dad, are you okay if I have a picture with James on my own?'”
“I know my place, I know my place,” Strawbridge interjected as the pair shared a laugh over their son’s antics.
Adoree and Strawbridge took to social media back in July when the event took place as they shared a series of snaps from their time at the Oxfordshire extravaganza.
In a series of snaps from the event, the Escape to the Chateau stars shared selfies with the impressive palace behind them – and even included a picture of their son and Martin together.
The 11-year-old is beaming from ear to ear in the snap while the ITV chef and presenter is decked in his apron and cooking gear ready to tackle the demands of the kitchen.
The remarks in their latest podcast come just days after they appeared in a separate podcast where they discussed the financial toll renovation of their French chateau had on them.
In a rare admission, Strawbridge admitted “we were broke” as he delved into the details of the money they had to fork out.
