Former Escape to the Chateau star Dick Strawbridge has quashed an ongoing rumour about himself and wife Angel Adoree.
The 64-year-old angrily hit out at speculation on he and Adoree’s podcast, Dick & Angel’s Chat…Eau.
The pair have kept fans up to date on the podcast about the goings-on of their lives since the Channel 4 series Escape to the Chateau ended in 2022.
During the latest episode of the podcast, Adoree read out some of the listeners’ questions at the end.
“I’ve got a couple of questions,” she announced, continuing: “The first one is ‘what is the greatest misconception about your lives and the chateau?'”
“Rock and Roll! It’s rock and roll,” Strawbridge quickly answered. “You think, ‘Hold on wait, we have been on television, we live in a chateau, yes, life is all sort of rock and roll and parties…'”

He went on to quip: “I can’t remember the last time we had a drink and just sort of chilled out, we don’t do that!”
Disagreeing with her husband about misconceptions, Adoree, 46, argued: “I think it’s that we sold it, no?”
“That’s not a misconception, that’s utter nonsense,” Strawbridge quickly stated.
He added: “Let’s not even talk about the other nonsense. By the way, I’ve been sat in bed, looked across at Angela and read that we’re getting a divorce.”

Continuing to blast false rumours, he added: “So if it’s in the news don’t even follow that part. How many times have we sold the chateau?”
“I can’t remember, loads! And for not a lot of money!” Adoree laughed.
In another recent podcast, Strawbridge joked about how he had undergone “botox”.
“I went and got this injection on my knee,” the engineer and former army officer told listeners.
“Oh yeah, let’s have a knee update,” Adoree requested, to which her husband explained: “I went along and saw the doctor, and the doctor’s lovely because he likes speaking in English which is great – he speaks in English, I speak in French.

“But the whole thing is interesting. He said, ‘Right, you need to get an injection – pick up your injection file from the chemist and then go along to see the doctor at the chemist.’
And I had a choice of going and getting an injection for free on the health service – and that would involve getting four injections a year, once every three months, or I could go private and pay for a better injection and get it just once.
“I said, ‘Okay, well it sounds sensible to just get it done once if it does the job better.’ He said it does and the cost of my single injection was €75. I was quite happy so I had my injection in my knee.
“And the way he explained it to me was [it was like] acid, but it was like getting a Botox injection. So at 64 I’ve had my first Botox injection and I look so much younger. Well actually, my knee looks younger.”
