A father and his three-year-old child were victims of an unprovoked attack in London on Saturday afternoon.

The incident, which occurred shortly after 1pm on Westbourne Grove, Notting Hill – left the parent with serious injuries.

The Metropolitan Police has released a CCTV image of a man who allegedly pushed the father to the ground.

Both victims were rushed to hospital following the assault.

While they have since been discharged, further medical care will be required.

The Met is treating the incident as an unprovoked attack and the investigation is ongoing.

The father sustained severe injuries during the attack, including a fractured eye socket, bleeding, and heavy bruising.

Officers said he hit his head on a wall as he fell to the pavement.

Police have described the father and son’s injuries as “quite serious”.

The force is urging witnesses to come forward with any information that could aid their investigation.

The man police would like to speak to is described as a black male aged around 40, with a medium to large build.

He was last seen wearing a blue jacket and trousers, white trainers, and a blue baseball cap.

Authorities are urging anyone who recognises the man or has information about the incident to come forward.

In a statement the Metropolitan Police added: “If you recognise this man or if you have any information which could help, please report it to police online or call 101 quoting 3239/05OCT24.

“Alternatively this can be reported to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
