A straight-A student who told her family not to worry about her before vanishing was found dead by a hiker in the Nevada desert.

Jennaleah Hin, 17, of Henderson, disappeared from her family home on December 30, telling her family: ‘You don’t have to worry about me anymore’ as she left, according to Red Rock Search and Rescue Commander Mark Speer.

On Sunday, Hin’s body was found by a hiker in a desert area near Desert Sunflower Circle and Spanish Needle Street, police said.

Her death has been ruled a suicide, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Her remains were found around 10:45am with no signs of foul play, according to KOLD.

She left after a ‘normal family dispute’ that ‘teenagers have with their parents,’ Speer said, according to The Independent.

‘Nothing out of the ordinary,’ he said.

She was discovered less than three miles from her Henderson home, which is near Las Vegas.

Red Rock Search and Rescue began looking for the teen girl on Thursday after she was caught on camera walking toward the desert.

Police are still investigating her death to ascertain if she was ever seen leaving the desert, according to the local outlet.

She was last seen leaving her parents’ home in a black hoodie and cargo pants. She had left home without a phone, backpack, or water, according to Speer.

Hin’s parents held a press conference with Henderson Police on Friday asking for help finding their daughter, who had never run away from home before and was a straight-A student at Foothill High School.

‘Jenna, wherever you are or whoever you’re with, I just want you to come home,’ Swanson said during the conference. ‘I want you safe. We love you so much.’

‘I just want to say, ‘I love you, and we just want you back,’ Hin’s stepfather Corey Swanson said at the presser. ‘Our home is broken without you.’

The search team trawled the desert with police and Hin’s distraught relatives for a week

Relatives shared several photographs of Hin during happier times, including on walks in the desert and dressed in a floor-length glittery red dress outside their home.

Her parents were separated and she lived with her mother and stepfather.
