Charles Spencer has made a major family announcement after he praised Prince Harry following the Duke of Sussex’s court settlement with News Group Newspapers.

The brother of the late Princess Diana shared an adorable picture of his new puppy on Saturday to his 258,000 followers on Instagram.

The young German Shepherd poked his head out of a black bag which the dog was being carried in.

Charles captioned the picture “New” with an emoji of a dog.

The 60-year-old last adopted a new puppy in April last year and already has several four-legged friends.

He shared a video from a puppy shelter where he then later adopted one of the puppies.

Charles said: “One of these darlings is joining me for a new life at Althorp in a few days. Can’t wait!”

Three months later, in July, one of his older Labradors, Otis, had to be put down.

The earl shared a picture of the 12-year-old dog at his home in Althorp.

He said: “Farewell to Otis, our wonderful Labrador, who had to be put to sleep last night.”

“He was nearly 13. Otis will now join his father, Karoo, and grandmother, Ella, in a beautiful spot in the Park at @althorphouse.”

The latest adoption comes after the earl expressed his support for Prince Harry, who “secured an apology for his mother” after settling his latest legal case.

Charles said that Harry’s mother would be “immensely touched” and “rightly proud.”

He has a close relationship with his nephew, Prince Harry.

The statement read: “It takes an enormous amount of guts to take on major media organisations like this, and incredible tenacity to win against them.

“It’s wonderful that Harry also secured an apology for his mother – she would be immensely touched by this, I’m sure, and also rightly proud.”
