A product designed for very young children has been deemed unsafe to use. The Weasel and the Whale Dummy Clip – Liberty Print Fabric, sold via Etsy, should be kept out of reach of little ones.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) shared that the product “presents a high risk of choking” and a “risk of strangulation”.

The OPSS said: “The product presents a high risk of choking as the detachable garment fastener is a small part and, if placed in a young child’s mouth, could cause them to choke.
“Additionally, the clip’s cord exceeds the maximum permissible length, presenting a risk of strangulation.
“The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
“The product has been recalled from end users. Owners should stop using the product immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.
“The seller has made direct contact with purchasers of the product and removed the listing from sale.”

The OPSS said: “The product presents a risk of injuries as it has been identified that a gap may appear between the handle and the seat shell, usually on one side.
“In certain circumstances, the handle may become loose or detach on one side, causing the car seat to move unexpectedly.”
