Many Britons will still be tucking into Christmas chocolates well into January, but one supermarket has already been spotted preparing for another major holiday.
Easter chocolate products have appeared at Morrisons just one day after Christmas, with Terry’s Chocolate Orange Minis Exploding Candy Easter egg (£1.50) among the early seasonal arrivals.
The festive chocolate switch was spotted and shared on social media by the food blog Newfoodsuk, which announced the Easter egg’s availability at the supermarket chain.
A post reading, “Terry’s Chocolate Orange Minis Exploding Candy Easter egg now available at Morrisons!”, has amassed hundreds of likes and comments in just hours from shoppers sharing their thoughts.
‘We haven’t even got over December or New Year, what’s the rush?’

The public reaction on social media has been notably divided, with some shoppers eagerly anticipating the early Easter treats.
“I would definitely eat that,” wrote one enthusiastic customer, while another urged a friend to “keep [their] eyes open for these”.
A third said: “Oh, will definitely be all over that.” “Want that,” declared another chocolate enthusiast.
On the other hand, many expressed frustration at the premature arrival of Easter confectionary.
“Why are they showing Easter eggs? We haven’t even got over December or New Year, what’s the rush?” questioned one social media user. However, this was met with a retort from a fan of the early Easter arrival, who responded: “Because people like to plan ahead.”
“Stop it! Christmas isn’t over yet,” commented another, with one disgruntled shopper simply responding: “Nnnooooooooo!!!!!”
The Terry’s Chocolate Orange Minis Exploding Candy Easter egg isn’t the only Easter treat on Morrisons shelves, with customers able to snap up several items in stores and online now.

The supermarket is also stocking Cadbury Dairy Milk Freddo Face Chocolate Egg (£1.75) and Cadbury White Buttons Chocolate Easter Egg (£1.75) as part of its initial Easter range.
These products have appeared alongside the Terry’s offering, marking an immediate transition to Easter confectionery on Boxing Day.
In response, one social media user said: “Wow, they could’ve at least waited until January.” One joked: “Just in time too.” Another rejoiced, however: “Looking forward to my first Easter egg!”
