Two residents of a townhouse are yet to be accounted for after a two-storey building went up in flames.
Emergency services were called to the home on Railway Street in Teralba, southwest Newcastle, about 4:15am on Thursday to reports of a house on fire.
About 50 firefighters rushed to the scene to put out the raging blaze but have been unable to locate two of the residents.
It is unknown if they were at the property at the time.
