Scottie Scheffler has been forced to pull out of the first PGA tournament of the year and undergo surgery after cutting his hand on broken glass while preparing Christmas dinner.
Scheffler was scheduled to compete in the 2025 season-opener, The Sentry, from January 2-5 over in Hawaii.

‘On Christmas Day while preparing dinner, Scottie sustained a puncture wound to the palm of his right hand from a broken glass. Small glass fragments remained in the palm which required surgery,’ Scheffler’s manager Blake Smith said in a statement on Friday.
‘He has been told that he should be back to 100% in three to four weeks. Unfortunately, he will have to withdraw from The Sentry. His next scheduled tournament is The American Express.’
