A man has been rushed to hospital with ‘life-threatening’ stab wounds before ‘gun shots’ were heard, police have revealed.
Barking & Dagenham police were called to Whalebone Lane South at 5.18pm today following reports that a man has been stabbed.
Shortly afterwards, a second call was made by a member of the public who reported gun shots in the area.
A police spokesperson said: ‘Officers and LAS attended and found a man, aged 19, with stab injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remains.
‘His condition has been assessed as life-threatening. His next of kin has been informed.’
‘A man was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident. He was taken into custody where he remains. A crime scene is in place at the location and enquiries are ongoing.’
