Two ‘very embarrassed’ Canberra Raiders NRL players have been disciplined over a altercation at their hotel in Las Vegas days out from the start of the 2025 season.

Second-rowers Hudson Young and Morgan Smithies came to blows after they were briefly evicted from the hotel on their first night following confusion over a room booking.

It’s understood an inflatable baseball bat were involved in the scuffle in a hotel elevator and that security guards attended, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Raiders coach Ricky Stuart confirmed an altercation took place three days ago and slammed the players’ behavior as unacceptable.

‘I have spoken to the players who are very embarrassed,’ he said.

‘The club will deal with this strongly.’

The club is expected to address the saga in the coming hours.

The NRL is aware of the incident.

More to come.
