A British citizen has been confirmed as one of the 14 people killed in the chilling New Year terror attack in New Orleans.
The cause of death for the British citizen has been confirmed as blunt force injuries by the city’s coroner.
Their identity remains temporarily withheld at the request of the deceased’s family ‘pending finalisation of international arrangements’.
In addition to the 14 dead, dozens of people were also injured when army veteran Shamsud Din Jabbar rammed his rental truck through throngs of people stood along New Orleans’ iconic Bourbon Street.
A senior FBI official has said the attack was ‘premeditated’ and an ‘evil’ act of terrorism, and said Jabbar was ‘100% inspired by ISIS’, also known as Islamic State.
The MailOnline has contacted the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
