Police are investigating a suspicious package just five miles outside of the Capitol in Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed to DailyMail.com that members of the Explosive Ordinance Disposal were called to investigate the item on the 5000 block of Hayes St. NE at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.
That portion of the road has been closed off while crews from the bomb squad investigate the package.
