An eight-year-old boy has died after a fire broke out at a house in Birkenhead.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue were called to a serious house fire at 1.48am at Keele Close on the Beechwood Estate, with Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) also attending.
When they arrived at the scene, three people were on the ground, having jumped out of the windows at the two-story property.
An eight-year-old boy was rescued from inside the property by firefighters.

Despite extensive first aid efforts from emergency service crews, the boy was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
