Strictly Come Dancing’s much-loved Movie Week aired on Saturday night, meaning the usual glitz and glam of the show was ramped up a notch.

Week three of the series saw the celebrities taking on the personas of some of the most recognisable film characters.

The show confirmed one couple had already been dealt a crushing blow as Nick Knowles was forced to pull out of the series due to another injury.

However, the show had to go on and some of the first faces on screen were hosts Tess Daly and Cluaida Winkleman, who welcomed viewers to Movie Week.

The pair seemed to distract those watching at home though as they each donned bright and eye-catching outfits.

Daly, 55, opted for a dazzling and sparkly blue dress, while Winkleman, 52, stunned in a lacy red jumpsuit.

Viewers were quick to take to social media to applaud both women on their Movie Week look, although some questioned why they hadn’t donned character outfits like the judges.

Taking to X, one penned: “Claudia is killing it in that jumpsuit! #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing.”

“Love both their outfits tonight… #Strictly #Claudia #Tess,” a second wrote.

“Tess’ blue sequinned jumpsuit #fashionwatch #Strictly,” a third shared alongside an heart emoji.

“Claudia in red i said PHEW #Strictly,” someone else added.

“Claudia in Red #Strictly,” another added with a string of red heart emojies.

Someone else posted: “Love @TessDaly’s outfit on tonight’s @bbcstrictly.”

However, one shared a complaint as they asked: “Why do Tess and Claudia never dress up for movie week? #SCD #Strictly,” (sic) alluding to the fact the judges and couples dress up as film characters to mark the popular themed week.

While Movie Week is always a fun theme, one couple will still be leaving the show and it seems it could be bad news for Toyah Willcox.

The latest odds by betting company Gambling.com have placed Willcox as favourite to be eliminated in Movie Week.
