Silent Witness has been ripped apart from BBC viewers once again as eagle-eyed fans noticed Emilia Fox was wearing her friend’s brand in one of the recent episodes.
Fox has played Dr Nikki Alexander for 20 years and has always stolen scenes with her acting – alongside her chic fashion.
Last night’s episode was part one of two and saw The Lyell called to King’s Cross Station Museum, where they discovered the bodies of eight victims entombed below.
They had the knowledge that a prolific serial killer was operating in London nearly 20 years ago, leaving the team to face their toughest case yet.
Whilst many fans of the show were eager to see how the team tackled the discovery of the bodies and where they would start their investigation, others quickly noticed something odd about Emilia’s clothes.
Nikki has been fashionable since her arrival at the Lyell, showcasing a £170 sleeveless jumper in one scene and a £220 cordless double-breasted jacket in the other.

She also wore a cord dress which retails for £295 and a tweed herringbone jacket for £260, which some viewers recently worked out were from her friend’s clothing brand.
Fox has modelled at least one item from the collection in every episode. She also features on the website and even plugs the brand on her Instagram page.
Plugging the brand, Fox recently wrote on her profile: “Am absolutely thrilled and honoured to have been asked by Marielle to do a collaboration collection with @wyselondon.
“It feels like a joyous celebration of our friendship and shared belief in wearing clothes that are stylish, expressive and fun.
The BBC has assured that Emilia has no financial benefit from wearing the clothes
WYSE LONDON
“I always feel at my best when I wear Wyse, both for work and in everyday life, and I so hope that anyone who wears anything from the collection feels the same too!”
Some viewers noticed the link between the two, with one commenting on X: “I am pretty sure that the top she’s wearing is one she posted on her Instagram from her friends brand? Gorgeous though.”
Another agreed: “I knew I had seen this top before! She looks absolutely stunning but I thought that wasn’t allowed? Then again she isn’t asking people to buy it!” (sic)
The BBC must adhere to strict guidelines when it comes to advertising and prohibit the promotion of products on their show.
Nikki and her team at The Lyell face her biggest challenge yet

A spokesperson for Fox recently commented on the link between her friends clothing brand and the BBC and explained there was no sponsorship deal for Fox and did not financially benefit from the collaboration.
GB News has also contacted Fox’s representatives and the BBC for a comment.
This isn’t the first time that the BBC has been accused of product placement after AJ Odudu flaunted her Google Pixel phone on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show.
Odudu had a brand deal with Google between 2022 and 2023 which left viewers to question whether she was being paid to promote the phone on the show, something which the BBC denied.
