After she deleted her Instagram account on Thursday, Angel Reese’s fans have come to her defense and doubled down that she did not deserve the internet chaos associated with her racy New Year’s Eve outfit.
Reese’s brown attire exposed much of her chest and led to many reactions of saying the outfit was inappropriate and how she was setting a bad example for her fans with her behavior.
The supporters of the Chicago Sky star ran interference by saying she dresses and acts like any other 22-year-old.
Reese posted the video of her outfit herself to her Instagram page with her deletion coming 48 hours after the video selfie showed off the brown dress.
Alongside Caitlin Clark, Reese has been at the forefront in the rise in popularity in women’s basketball in America, and has been the more controversial figure of the two, which has endeared and polarized her fan base.
That fan base made sure to try and reach Reese, even if her main source of social media is nonexistent.

Reese is taking a break from her Instagram after her New Year’s Eve outfit drew criticism
‘Angel Reese bothers people because she doesn’t fit the stereotypical tomboy dressed basketball players. She literally isn’t doing anything but having media visibility and being cute dressed like a normal woman her age,’ one Reese fan said.
‘I hope its a glitch and not that she deactivated. But if she did I respect it. Gotta do what you gotta do.’
‘Or is she taking a (social media) break? She’s strong and I don’t believe she is going to let her hate be the reason for deactivating.’
‘Y’all really made Angel Reese deactivate her account because y’all bully this girl and over sexualize everything smh.’

Reese’s debut WNBA season was cut short with injury. However, she’ll return to the court as part of the new 3-on-3 Unrivaled basketball league.
The 22-year-old was one of the WNBA’s best before the left-wrist injury, combining with Clark at the WNBA All-Star game to defeat the Olympic-bound Team USA.
Reese has not made a statement on any of her other social media about her disappearance from Instagram.
