Police have launched an investigation after balaclava-clad robbers threatened staff and stole cash from an Aldi store in Nottingham.
A number of offenders broke into a staff area at the supermarket located on Chatterley Parkway as the “terrifying” ordeal played out.
The incident occurred shortly after 9.30pm as thieves descended on the unsuspecting store on March 21.
No one was injured during the ordeal, police confirmed.

Since, officers have launched an investigation and are working to identify those responsible for the crime.
The suspects, who were wearing face coverings and dark clothing, threatened shop workers during the incident.
They then demanded money from a safe before fleeing with what police described as a “quantity of cash”.
Detective Sergeant Alana Scott of Nottinghamshire Police said: “Our investigation is still in its very early stages, but we are using all available resources to track down those responsible.”

“This must have been a frightening incident for staff in the store at the time,” she added.
Officers remain in the area carrying out inquiries into what they described as an “isolated incident”.
Now, police are scouring CCTV footage as part of their efforts to identify the culprits as DS Scott urged anyone with concerns to speak to an officer in the area.
“If anyone has any concerns, please speak to an officer,” she added.

They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident.
Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 823 of March 21, 2025.
