Meghan Markle claimed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 that there were “concerns and conversations” within the Royal Family about how dark Prince Archie’s skin might be when he was born.
In the build-up to Endgame’s release, Scobie confirmed he did know the identity of the two royals who allegedly made the comments regarding Prince Archie.
However, Scobie said he could not name the royals due to UK law.

The royal author said: “Laws in the United Kingdom prevent me from reporting who they were.”
It remains unclear why the Dutch translation of Endgame named specific individuals when no other foreign translations appear to do so.
During an interview on ITV this morning, Scobie doubled down on distancing himself from the error in the Dutch versions of Endgame.
He said: “I had never submitted a book that had their names in it, so I can only talk about my version.
“I am obviously frustrated, I would not say I am upset about it.”
The two royals named in the Dutch version of the book were identified on British television on Wednesday evening by Piers Morgan.
Publishers of the Dutch version of Endgame, Xander Uitgevers, have taken action to urgently remove the book from sale across stores in the Netherlands.
They said in a statement: “Xander Uitgevers was forced to temporarily withdraw the book from the market because an error had occurred in the Dutch edition.”
