Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden gave fans an insight to her holiday with her twin sister Rebecca Dowden and BBC co-star Carlos Gu – sharing a poignant message.
Last month, Dowden was given the good news from her doctors that there was no sign of her cancer being detected.
She isn’t able to be given the all-clear for another five years, but this hasn’t stopped Dowden from getting on with her life and forgetting the tough year she experienced.
Dowden, her sister and Gu all joined each other for a relaxing holiday in Morocco, with both Strictly stars sharing their time out there on Instagram.
The trio have been sightseeing, hitting the spa and enjoying meals in one another’s company – but that didn’t stop Dowden from taking a moment to reflect.
Posting an image of herself beside a huge rose bush, smelling the pink flower, she wrote: “Stop and smell the roses.
“After the past few months this quote is one I remind myself of daily. ‘You’re only here for a short visit. Don’t hurry. Don’t worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way’.
“Having a lovely time with my twin @becky_dowfen and it’s so lush @gkx_carlos booked on for a surprise.” (sic)
Fans were pleased to see Dowden living life to the fullest, with many commenting their support and praising her new hairstyle.
One noted: “You are just beautiful! I hope you all have the best time! So well deserved.”
Amy has been spending a lot of time with her friends after the good news about cancer
“Your hair looks fantastic! Really suits you,” another noted before a third praised: “Looking lovely darling! Hope you’re having the best time and soaking in the sun!”
Her holiday isn’t the only way she has ben relaxing as she recently had a “sleepover party” with Strictly friends Dianne Buswell, Robbie Metoni, Jake Leigh and Buswell’s boyfriend Joe Sugg.
Posting a series of images from their time together, she penned: “Nothing but love for these beautiful souls @diannebuswell @joe_sugg @robbiekmetoni @jakeleigh__.”
Dowden has shared every step of her cancer journey and even decided to film and post the moment she shaved her head due to hair loss from the chemotherapy.
Amy shared a heartfelt message
Keeping fans updated, in January she posted a clip of herself and said: “So grateful for the hair growth so far. My eyelashes and brows are back and the hair is growing.
“This is for everyone going through treatment… Remember, like I keep telling myself, ‘This too shall pass.” (sic)
