Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George will miss the remainder of the season after receiving injections on groin and knee injuries, according to reports.
ESPN’s Shams Charania claims George is expected to be out for at least six weeks, meaning he will play no part in Philadelphia’s remaining 15 fixtures that run until April 13.
The Sixers are set to miss out on this season’s playoffs amid a miserable campaign which has left them down in 12th place in the Eastern Conference.
George has not featured for the team since March 4 after reportedly taking painkilling injections for five straight games earlier in the season.
The nine-time NBA All-Star averaged 16.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in 41 appearances this season – his first with Philadelphia after opting out of the player option in his $48.7million contract with the LA Clippers and becoming a free agent last year.
