Aussie fans of pop sensation Billie Eilish are forking out more than a hundred dollars – not for concert tickets but to pay people to queue for them.
The 23-year-old musician is half way through the Australia leg of her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, and those desperate to get prime positions for the performance have taken to an online marketplace to pay people to save their spot in line.
Job ads popped up on Airtasker this week, offering users between $65 and $200 to sit or camp in the entrance queue for the concert.
‘Need someone to sit in line for me at Qudos Bank Arena for the Billie Eilish concert! From early morning 28th Feb till about 3-4pm,’ one user said.
A potential employee answered: ‘We can camp out from 2am-4pm for this if you like.’
Another job offered $200 for someone to camp outside the venue to save their place from Wednesday until Friday morning.
Those paying for human placeholders in line are among the less extreme lengths Aussies are going to in order to get a good view of the red-hot hitmaker as she belts out her tunes.
One mega-fan told Today’s Taylor Haynes she had been lining up outside the venue herself for a solid four straight days to secure a front row seat.

Dozens of fans were already lining up outside Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney days ahead of the Friday night concert.
In order to make time tick by faster, the concertgoer said she and the other 600 fans in the queue have been playing games and chatting while waiting for the big night.
Despite the excitement, fans have been slammed for their hygiene habits with one attendee calling out others on TikTok after Monday’s show for littering.
The fan shared a short clip that showed what appeared to be the entrance to the concert with eager punters forced to step over piles of rubbish as they made their way in.
The Los Angeles-born singer will be performing 12 sold-out Australian shows across Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne as part of her world tour.
It is the first time Billie has performed in Australia since 2022.
