Losing weight is tough but, luckily, there are plenty of experts on hand to offer their best tips and tricks.
Speaking to GB News, a nutrition coach explained the best foods to eat for a trim waistline.
Focus on anti-inflammatory foods, advised nutrition coach and yoga teacher at OriGym, Abbie Watkins.
As well as helping fat loss, this can help reduce bloating which will give the appearance of a flatter stomach.

Abbie explained: “Chronic inflammation can cause weight gain, especially around the midsection.
“Consuming foods like turmeric, ginger, and leafy greens can reduce inflammation. These foods support the body’s ability to burn fat, particularly around the belly.”
For exercise, strength training can boost the metabolism – the process in the body responsible for fat-burning.
The expert continued: “People naturally think cardio is important to burn belly fat. However, strength training can also increase muscle mass which can boost your metabolism.
“With more muscle, you’ll burn more calories at rest to help you shed belly fat over time.”
All exercise is great for weight loss, but working on building muscle will ensure the body burns more calories – and therefore targets more fat – even while at rest.
Aside from diet and exercise, the health pro suggested another habit that has been shown to speed up fat-burning – cold exposure.
She explained: “When you expose your body to cold temperatures, it activates brown fat.

“This burns calories to keep you warm. If you’re feeling brave, try cold showers or ice baths to stimulate the fat-burning process, especially in the abdomen area.”
Indeed, a study published in the National Library of Medicine looked at the effect of cold exposure on energy metabolism.
It concluded: “Acute cold exposure could improve the energy expenditure and BAT (brown adipose tissue) activity in adults, which is beneficial for human against obesity.”
