A woman was killed after her car hit a double-decker bus in east London this morning.
The fatal crash happened on Lea Bridge Road in Hackney just before 7am.
Police were called at around 6.50am this morning to the collision near the junction of Clapton Road.
Road and air ambulances came too – but though the driver of the car was taken to hospital, she sadly died there shortly after.
A picture of the bus involved in the crash – the 308 to the Wanstead area of east London – show its entire front bumper dented, with the entire right side of it including the headlight having totally fallen off.
In the image, the bus is parked up at the Wattisfield Road bus stop and the crash site is ringed with police tape, blocking off the whole road.
The extent of the damage to the bus is testament to the sheer force of the collision.
No other injuries were reported and investigations into what happened continue.

Road closures at the crash site remain in place as of this evening. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and go alternative ways.
Bus routes 55, 56 and 308 were detoured earlier today.
Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage to work out how the collision happened.
