The best approach to achieving beautiful skin is always multifaceted – think eating a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, adequate hydration and a strategic skin care routine.
Judit Galambosi of JE’DERM Skin Atelier previously spoke exclusively to GB News about the drink to cut out to avoid speedy ageing, dehydrated skin and “dullness”.
She also named the hydrating product that is “more important than ever” in your 40s and beyond.
This time, the expert spoke to GB News about the “solid skin care regime” to implement for “the best skin of your life”. According to Judit, weekly exfoliation is a key to achieving “long-term skin health”.

Judit stated: “The key to healthy, glowing skin is consistency. Beautiful skin takes commitment – not a miracle.
“Taking care of your skin means making healthy choices and adjusting your routine to what your skin needs at any given time.
“Stick to what works and you’ll see results. It’s never too late or too early to start doing what works for you and get that glow.”
The expert explained that “the foundation of healthy skin is a consistent routine”. She advised women: “Start with a gentle cleanser morning and night to remove dirt and impurities.”
She also advised exfoliating weekly to “smooth texture and address discolouration and fine lines”.
While Judit recommends using a Revival Masque from Eviron, effective exfoliators can be purchased via most beauty retailers – just make sure you follow your specific product’s instructions.
The skin experts at Dermalogica also highlighted the benefits of regular exfoliation. They explained: “The skin typically goes through a 28-day cycle, from new cells being born at the bottom of the epidermis to shedding off at the surface.
“As we get older, this process, called desquamation begins to slow down. Have you noticed your skin get more dull, drier or an increase in texture over the years? This could be why.”
Regular exfoliation can accelerate the process by “increasing cell renewal”, as well as getting rid of “dull dead skin cells”.
“Exfoliation can make your skin appear instantly brighter, as it is increasingly smooth and can reflect the light more effectively,” the experts added.
There are two types of exfoliants: physical and chemical. Physical exfoliants are “granular scrubs that simply buff off dead skin cells from the surface of the skin”, while chemical exfoliants – also known as Hydroxy Acids – “boost cell renewal to deliver fresh, plump skin cells”.

It’s always worth consulting with your dermatologist about which type of exfoliant is best for you.
Antioxidants are also a “must” for great skin, as they boost collagen production, Judit suggested.
Finally, ladies should “lock in hydration” with a quality moisturiser, and complete their skin care routine with sunscreen to “protect against UV damage all year round”.
Judit said: “These simple steps, done daily, are the key to long-term skin health.”
For middle-aged ladies specifically, a second skin care expert shared the ideal morning and evening regime for “the best skin of your life” over 50.
