Toymaker Character has said it is confident its ranges will do well this year despite ‘challenging’ trading conditions.
The business, which stocks brands such as Peppa Pig, Pokemon and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, said early signs show new products such as a £30 Cotton Candy Maker are proving popular.
A spokesman said: ‘The customer previews of our 2025 ranges have been very successful to date, and we are confident that the ranges will perform well in the coming year.’
The optimism came as it prepares to showcase new ranges at the London Toy Fair at Olympia next week and the Nurenberg Toy Fair later in the month.

‘These two international fairs are the biggest events in our annual marketing calendar for Europe,’ the spokesman added.
Bosses at the business expect profits for the year to August 31, 2025 to be at a similar level to the £6.6m it posted last year.
Shares fell more than 3.5 per cent, or 9p, to 249p after it admitted ‘trading conditions have continued to be challenging’.
