Prince Harry made a touching gesture to an elderly victim of the Los Angeles wildfires, personally fetching him a donut whilst maintaining his anonymity during a visit to the Pasadena Convention Centre.
The Duke of Sussex was distributing food parcels at the evacuation centre on Friday when he asked an elderly man if he wanted something to eat.
According to the Pasadena Star News, when the man, unaware he was speaking to a royal, expressed his desire for a donut, Harry immediately left to find one.
“He takes off, and 10 minutes later, he returns with a donut,” recalled Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo.
The grateful recipient, still not knowing Prince Harry’s identity, quipped: “I guess I need my carbs and my sugar”.
He added: “If you ever run for anything, I’ll vote for you!”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen comforting victims alongside Jennifer Newsom, wife of California Governor Gavin Newsom, as they served meals at the evacuation centre.
The couple, who live in Montecito around 90 miles from LA, have rallied to support those affected by the devastating fires through their Archewell Foundation.
They have opened their £23million mansion to those forced to evacuate their homes.
The pair were spotted embracing celebrity chef José Andrés, founder of World Central Kitchen, which has partnered with their foundation since 2020 to provide free hot meals to emergency crews and the public.

Meghan, wearing a light blue shirt and LA baseball cap, and Harry, in a black cap and polo shirt, spoke extensively with local officials and first responders.
Mayor Gordo told Foxx News: “They really buoyed the spirits of the first responders.”
He added: “They want to be as helpful as they can be and really they just want to be supportive.”
The Los Angeles wildfires have claimed 16 lives and destroyed nearly 14,000 acres of land, with US President Joe Biden describing the scene as “like a war scene”.
