Speaking to GB News Community Editor Michael Heaver in Westminster, Rupert gave his view on the BBC: “I think it’s damaging the structure of Britain.
“It’s not impartial anymore and there is no reason in today’s world where we have multi-news channels, not least GB News, but a lot of the young people have other ways of finding their news.
Rupert went on to argue that: “They don’t watch the BBC. And to have a compulsory TV license, which is the only debt if you don’t pay it, for which you can get a criminal record and even potentially a jail sentence, is frankly archaic.
“So my view is that the BBC should be responsibly defunded, so effectively the license fee should be revoked, they should have time to sort themselves out and they should become a subscription service.
“Those people who crow about how wonderful the BBC is can continue to pay for it. Those of us who don’t think it’s good value can go and spend our money on something else.”
